Funders

ACTA is dedicated to addressing longstanding inequity in the US arts funding landscape. Traditional artists–overwhelmingly people of color–have historically been overlooked when it comes to public sector or philanthropic support for their artistic practice and community healing work. For more than 25 years, we have received funding from foundations and government partners to support cultural sustainability across California communities, as well as restorative justice and health equity programs.

  • “ACTA has created a pathway for talented, under-recognized artists to benefit from philanthropic support and broader public recognition. Its work celebrates the dedication that can lead to mastery and supports settings in which mastery can be pursued. California and the traditional arts would be at an incredible loss if ACTA had not been there to keep them alive and growing."

  • “ACTA was the only organization with the vision and capacity to run and grow the Living Cultures grant program. And grow it they did, beyond anything I ever dreamed. Amy and her team have expanded the funding support, reach, assistance, and impact of the program for well over a decade, serving artists and small cultural organizations throughout California.”
